Glee Considering Tribute to Whitney Houston in Valentine's Day Episode

This is what  Matthew Morrison has to say about the passing of  Whitney Houston mere days before Fox will air Glee's big Valentine's Day episode featuring a rendition of Houston's seminal version of "I Will Always Love You." And now, a rep for 20th Century, the studio that produces Glee, tells us that episode may turn into a Whitney tribuet. So what will it be? And what else did Morrison just tell us? No final decision has been made yet, but producers are considering paying further homage to Houston in the Tuesday episode, in which Amber Riley sings Houston's trademark ballad (which was based on the Dolly Parton original) while weighing her feelings for Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Shane (LaMarcus Tinker). "Yes, we are trying [to do a tribute]," a source tells me. "The episode had been locked but we are going back in." Most likely, it will feature some sort of title card honoring Houston before or after the episode, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Morrison, who talked to our Marc Malkin at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party tonight, said he heard the news of Whitney's passing on the way to the event. "Last year this time I was so excited to actually get a picture with her," Morrison tells us. "I was so excited about that. I grew up listening to The Bodyguard soundtrack. That was my jam."

Charity work saved Angelina Jolie from 'shallow, horrible life'

Angelina Jolie is convinced she would be leading a "very shallow, horrible life" if she hadn't thrown herself into humanitarian work to keep her grounded after finding fame in Hollywood. The Salt actress became hot property in the movie industry after winning an Academy Award for her performance in 1999's Girl, Interrupted, but instead of revelling in all the media attention, Jolie threw herself into her philanthropy work - and she's glad she did.She says, "Without the balance of doing things that actually matter in the world - and being part of the real world - then I would have been left in a bubble. That would have felt very empty and I probably would have just had a very shallow, horrible life."I'm very lucky that I've been allowed to, in the last 10 years, to travel and go into the world and welcomed into areas of the world where I see people and work with people who are survivors of war and refugees and people, just from everywhere and all walks of life and so I have a real view of the real world."And the experiences have made Jolie all the more thankful for her blessings.

Sam Worthington on 'Man on a Ledge'

He acted like a superstar even before appearing in the biggest box office hit in history. How has wealth and adulation changed Sam Worthington? Very little, it seems...A few weeks before James Cameron’s sci-fi epic Avatar hit cinemas and became the most successful film of all time, I interviewed the film’s star Sam Worthington, at that time unknown. Unassuming and fantastic company, the Australian actor assured me (like all up-and-coming actors do) that success in Hollywood would not affect him. Obsessed by acting and aware that his anonymity was about to vanish, he was resolutely determined to continue leading an ordinary life. For example, he told me he didn’t even own a mobile and had no intention of buying one. Two years on, I am speaking to Worthington again about his latest film, a hugely entertaining action thriller called Man on a Ledge. As we sit side by side on a cream sofa in the opulence of a Beverly Hills hotel suite, the cynic in me wonders whether he has indeed changed. He doesn’t look any different. With a few days’ growth, his hair cropped, he is ruggedly handsome with a strong jawline and vivid blue eyes, dressed in jeans, a Hawaiian tourist T-shirt and old moccasins which, he says, “I borrowed from my mate”. As we chat, the 35-year-old former bricklayer from Perth finishes a big dish of ice cream, topped with whipped cream, then reaches into the pocket of his jeans and pulls out a crumpled piece of paper full of scribbled phone numbers of people he has promised to call: evidence that he has stuck to his guns. No iPhone or BlackBerry? “No, I’m not making a statement, I just don’t like phones. I don’t like it when people ring me, It’s like ‘leave me alone’.” He chuckles. “Write me a letter. My agents hate it because they can’t get hold of me but my belief is that we survived for many years without cell phones and we still got hold of each other.

Katy Perry's film is no joke for profane Russell Brand

Katy Perry, the American pop star, is tipped to have a film made about her life by the Oscar-winning producer of 'A Beautiful Mind' and 'Apollo 13', Brian Grazer. Katy Perry’s marriage to Russell Brand seemed doomed since she told Mandrake last year how “sensitive” she was about the blasphemous jokes that her husband kept making. The American pop star whose parents are pastors, now has to decide whether to edit the British comedian out of a proposed film about her life. Mandrake hears that Brian Grazer, the Oscar-winning producer of such films as A Beautiful Mind and Apollo 13, is keen to bring Perry’s life story to the big screen.
