24 Fighting Camels

Band: 24 Fighting Camels

Members: Helen (vocals), Michael (lead vocals /guitar), Chris (drums), Andy (Bass), Jim (Keyboards)Style: Bit of everything covers band

This quirky-named band were complete strangers before coming together to rock, and they do it simply because they love it.
At aged 40 plus a group of people came together in 2006 at 'Weekend Warriors', which made a call for musicians to dust off their instruments from the loft and fall in love with making music again. There the band were born.
All accomplished musicians, they play a combination of private functions and public gigs, and play a range of favourites from the 60s to present day, depending of the taste of their audience.
Andy said: "We don't take it too seriously and always have lots of fun. We basically cover the cost of our travel at gigs because we just do it because we enjoy it. We muck around quite a lot and people like that - and sometimes we give them the microphone and they come and sing with us on stage."
Three of the band members hail from the area (Reading, Cookham and Maidenhead) and the others come from further afield.
